The Best Value in Coolant Automation.
Coolant automation has traditionally been priced for big plants: prohibitively expensive for most shops, and only justified with extreme ROI calculations. Coolant Copilot changes that. It's affordable, practical, and an easy decision for a real machine shop.
Priced for Real Shops
Coolant automation shouldn't be reserved for the biggest plants. Coolant Copilot is affordable for most machine shops.
No Extreme ROI Math
No spreadsheet gymnastics to justify it. Fewer bucket runs, fewer interrupted cycles, and more confidence when the lights go out.
One System, Five Machines
A single station serves up to five CNCs, so one system covers a whole cell instead of one machine at a time.
Your Machines Don't Stop. Why Should Your Coolant?
In most shops, keeping coolant topped off is still a manual routine: someone checks levels, mixes a batch, and carries it from machine to machine. It works, until it gets in the way of production or nobody is around to do it.
- Mixing and hauling by handPremixed coolant gets carried across the floor in buckets, one machine at a time.
- Constant level checksOperators keep walking the floor to see which sump is getting low.
- Interrupted productionRefilling pulls people away from setups, inspection, and running parts.
- Risk during unattended runsA sump that runs low overnight has no one there to catch it.
- Every machine needs attentionMore machines means more trips, more batches, and more to remember.
- Inconsistent makeup mixesRatios vary with whoever mixes the batch and how carefully they measure.
- Automation priced out of reachExisting coolant automation is prohibitively expensive for most shops, and hard to justify without extreme ROI math.
Manual refilling
Today, on most shop floors- Walk the floor and check each machine's coolant level.
- Mix a batch in a bucket, measuring by eye or by a chart on the wall.
- Carry it to the machine that needs it.
- Pour it in, often between or during cycles.
- Hope nothing runs low after everyone goes home.
Repeated on every machine, every shift.
With Coolant Copilot
Automatic, centralized replenishment- Level sensors watch every connected machine continuously.
- A machine drops below its LOW threshold and is queued.
- Water and concentrate are proportioned to that machine's recipe.
- Coolant is routed through that machine's own valve.
- Filling stops at HIGH. Faults stop dispensing and light the stack light.
Runs within your configured limits, even when no one is present.
One System. Five Machines. Fully Automated.
Coolant Copilot is a centralized coolant mixing and refill station. Shared water and concentrate drums feed one station, and the station serves up to five CNC machines, each with its own valve, its own level thresholds, and its own makeup mix. All at a price that makes sense for a real shop.
Automatic Refilling
Coolant Copilot monitors coolant level and automatically dispenses makeup coolant when a machine needs replenishment.
Independent Mixing
Configure the makeup percentage for each CNC separately. The system mixes water and coolant concentrate accordingly.
Centralized Management
One shared system connects to up to five CNC machines, replacing individual manual refill routines.
System architecture
Simplified diagramSet the Mix. We'll Handle the Rest.
Every connected machine runs through the same five-step cycle. Machines are filled one at a time, in order, so each one gets its own recipe through its own valve.

Your Machines Work Nights. So Do We.
Robotic machine tending solves part handling. But running unattended also means automating the routine maintenance around the machine, and coolant is one of the first things to run out.
Coolant Copilot takes routine coolant replenishment off the checklist. Machines that need coolant are refilled automatically, within the limits you set, so operators can spend their time on setups, programming, and quality instead of buckets.
Coolant Copilot runs in Avalon's own automated machining factory, alongside Night Shift™ robotic machine tending. We built it because we needed it. About Avalon

Illustrative example- Last operator heads homeMachines keep running their unattended jobs.
- CNC 2 drops below LOWCopilot mixes its 8% recipe and refills it to HIGH.
- CNC 4 and CNC 1 both need coolantThey are queued and filled one at a time, each through its own valve.
- Concentrate drum running lowThe stack light turns amber, dispensing pauses, and the event is logged.
- Morning crew checks the dashboardFill history and alerts are waiting. Swap the drum and the system is ready.
Complete Control. From Any Browser.
The controller hosts its own web dashboard on your shop network, over Ethernet or Wi-Fi. Open it on a desktop, tablet, or phone to see every machine, change settings, and review what happened overnight.

Industrial Automation Without the Complexity.
Built for Machinists. Designed for Automation. Coolant Copilot is a practical shop tool: a compact station, labeled connections, and settings you can understand at a glance.
Compact, centralized design
One station and two drums on a wheeled dolly serve up to five machines.
Quick-disconnect cables
Industrial quick-disconnect sensor connections for each CNC.
Automatic valve routing
A separate electronic valve per machine. Only one machine fills at a time.
Hardwired emergency stop
The E-stop cuts pump and valve power directly, independent of the software.
Independent overfill detection
A separate high-high sensor on each machine backs up the normal level limits.
Ethernet and Wi-Fi
Connect over a hardwired network or Wi-Fi. Refilling continues even if the network drops.
No touchscreen to damage
No exposed operator screen to crack or coat in coolant. Use your own devices.
Straightforward configuration
Enable a machine, set LOW, HIGH, mix and maximum fill time. That's it.
Industrial multicolor status light
The stack light is the operator's first signal. Details are one click away in the dashboard.
- Green: ready and idle
- Blue: filling a machine
- Amber: low supply or maintenance needed
- Red: E-stop, overfill, or fill fault
By Machinists. For Machinists.
Avalon is an AS9100-certified machine shop in Los Angeles that makes critical parts for aerospace, space, and defense customers. We built our own automated machining factory, and we build the automation that runs it.
Coolant Copilot came straight off our shop floor. Keeping coolant topped off was one more manual task standing between our machines and unattended production, so we automated it. We run Coolant Copilot in our own factory every day, the same way your shop will. We built it for our own shop, so it had to make financial sense for a shop like ours.

Frequently Asked Questions
Have a question that isn't answered here? Send it with your request and we'll get back to you.
How much does Coolant Copilot cost?
Coolant Copilot is built to be the best value in coolant automation. It's affordable for most machine shops, without the extreme ROI calculations other systems require. Pricing depends on your setup, so tell us about your shop and we'll send you a quote.
How many machines can one system support?
Up to five CNC machines, each with independent level thresholds and makeup concentration settings.
Can each CNC use a different coolant concentration?
Yes. Each CNC can have its own makeup mixture percentage, provided all machines use the same coolant concentrate formulation.
Does Coolant Copilot measure coolant concentration?
No. It controls the proportioning of the coolant it dispenses using calibrated dispensing components, but it does not measure the concentration of fluid already in the CNC sump. Periodic manual coolant testing, for example with a refractometer, is still recommended.
Does it work with existing CNC machines?
It's designed as a standalone system that uses coolant-level sensors and fluid delivery connections rather than modifications to the CNC controller. Installation compatibility depends on the machine, so we'll review your equipment with you.
Can I monitor it remotely?
Yes, through a web dashboard available over Ethernet or Wi-Fi on your network. Secure access from outside the local network may require additional infrastructure, such as a VPN. The dashboard should not be exposed directly to the internet.
What happens if the coolant supply runs low?
The system monitors both supply drums and alerts operators through the stack light and dashboard when liquid is low.
What happens if a machine gets too full?
The system uses configured level limits and a separate high-high sensor. On an overfill fault, dispensing is stopped and the fault is reported.
Do I need a touchscreen?
No. The interface runs in a standard web browser on a desktop, tablet, or phone.
Can I fill a machine manually?
Yes, through the dashboard, subject to the configured safety limits and interlocks.
